Are these considered bulb plants? I have loads of them in pots. They multiply like rabbits and I separate them each year, as they numbers increase exponentially. I put some in the ground last fall but left most in pots.

What's the secret to making them bloom? I only had one bloom last year.

Do they like to be crowded or pot-bound? Will they grow in a sandy soil?

They need lots of sun and heat, plus plenty of water and regular fertilizer. They are a bulb that never goes completely dormant, there is always a green tip. They are Mexican natives where they grow in moist places. They should not be pot bound to bloom. Planted where they get reflected heat from a wall may help them bloom. Al
