Before planting out, that is. I ordered tuberous begonias online yesterday. I usually start them indoors, but never noticed how long it really takes before they seriously get going. I think in the past I didnÂt start them early enough, just did them when I did the dahlias. In my order confirmation the seller (Easy to Grow Bulbs) says they can send them at whatever time I want them, now or wait. This got me thinkingÂ

Here, planting out doesnÂt get done until the last week of May. If I want a really impressive, lush display, ideally, when should I start these? How much time should I allow for indoor growth? 1 month? 2 months?

Another issue: IÂve never had anyone hold a shipment. I ordered early because I didnÂt want them to run out. But am I more likely to get the "leftovers," the smaller bulbs, by NOT taking them right away?
