I am new to tulips - got some on sale at the local grocery store...they were in bloom in the pot. Planted them and they lasted about 1 week. their stems are turning red from the ground up. I DO have others that I got last year and they are not doing this.

I bought 4 pots this year and planted them in different beds, and they are all turning red from the ground up.

Is this normal???
