Agapanthus question

I have wintered over Agapanthus in a dark room with little water. They still have put out growth which was white. I have taken them outside and the foliage have turned green. I have read that the foliage should be cut back??? I would hate to cut all this long green grwoth back but I want flowers? Also what do I fertilize them with?

My climate is very different from yours, but I think your agapanthus will bloom if they are not cut back, if they are planted where they get enough sun. The foliage may sunburn later in the season, but you will get more blooms. If given enough water the sunburn will be less. Al
