Daffodil Bulbs

Okay, so I grabbed sum daffodil bulbs on clearance late last fall, but never got a chance to plant them. I had them in my car trunk over the winter, seem to be fine. My car is outdoors (no garage) so they've basically been through the winter cold cycle.

If I planted them now, would they probably grow and flower this year? Or did they need to be in the ground over the winter?

If they seem to be fine (fairly firm and not mushy) I would try planting them and just hoping for the best.

Blooms? I imagine you 'might' get some late buds, if the bulbs survived, but the buds will likely blast (dry up) from it being so warm/hot.

If they survive, they should do better next spring, but it might take them until spring 2015 to really recover.
