Why aren't my dutch iris blooming?

They have been in my beds for about four years now. The clumps are quite large. Last year they bloomed spectacularly. This year I got only four or five blooms total. Do they need to be divided? Are they like glads and poop out after a few years? Please advise.

They keep multiplying and using up the nutrients. If they weren't stressed by drought I'd guess it's the year for replanting.

Well, silly me. Two weeks later, they are in full bloom. I do think I will divide them this year, though. The clumps are getting very large. Thanks, Iris gal. I'll be sure to give them a nice feed while I'm at it.
