Amaryllis Bulb Splitting

I have an amaryllis bulb that seems to be splitting itself wide open. It is at least 1/3 of the way through the bulb. It sent up two beautiful stems with lots of blossoms. Now, while sending up the leaves, the middle of the bulb is literally dividing itself in half.

Should I be worried, is this natural??? I have dozens of bulbs that I keep throughout the year(s) and I've never encountered this before. Any suggestions?
