Digging up bulbs necessary in warmer climates?

I live in a hot and humid area with mild winters. Was wondering if digging up my elephant ears, and gladiolus bulbs will be necessary? Thanks!

Only if you want to plant spring blooming bulbs or annuals in that area..

Your colocasia or elephant ears may be frosted to the ground in your winter, but will return in the spring from the roots. Al
