You need to post what kind of bulbs they are.

The bag states Liatris Spicata. What do you think?

I have the same Liatris from CostCo. They took 2-3 years to bloom!! I would plant them immediately, give a good soak and then ignore. If they're still firm all should be ok. They do not like being disturbed so choose the location with care.

Not really a bulb :-) Liatris is a member of the Aster family (Asteraceae), a herbaceous perennial easily grown from seed but also sold as bare root starts with summer flowering bulbs as it develops flattened, corm-like roots or storage organs. It can also be purchased as a started plant.....like most other herbaceous perennials.

By all means go ahead and plant now. As long as the roots/corms have not dried out excessively it should be fine. Because not a true bulb, bare root sources of liatris - like other types of perennials sold in this manner - may have a low success rate. Unlike bulbs, these rooty plants really do not store well out of the ground.

IME, they divide and transplant quite easily. Very tolerant of a range of planting conditions, naturalizes to form large clumps and pretty indistructable.

My goof!!! I was thinking Lycoris. Gardengal is correct.

ps: I've not had good luck with Liatris in my area nor any of the gardening friends. Guess our winters are too mild. They behave like short-lived perrenials.
