I've never grown this bulb and am wondering what your opinion is about it. Is it worth planting? Thanks much.

They are quite a pretty flower, I think they are well worth planting. I have a small clump that I planted about 3 years ago that blooms quite beautifully each year. They don't seem to spread that quickly in my garden, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing as that also means I'm not having to "weed" seedlings out.

Thanks for your quick reply, cls. I'm supposing the flower is smallish? About the size of a nickel maybe? Just curious. Also, the flower colors in catalogs aren't very accurate. Can you tell me if yours are a darker lavender or are they a light lavender?

I'm going to plant a whole lot of them in groups of 5 or 6 bulbs in the front and sides of the house. I don't care if they don't spread quickly either. So many things do and then you have to split them and give them away, etc. like Goldstrum Rudbekia. I really like them because they bloom all summer, but they spread like crazy.

Thanks for your help!

I planted them, and saw what looks like green onions. Never saw a flower at all. That was the first year...I want to dig them all up and throw them out.

OOPS I posted the same question. I didn't see this til just now.

I am wanting to buy this bulb...even though it might be too late.
