Ants on lillies?

Why are there ants on the lilies? I notice every year my lilies are crawling with ants. At first I thought they help the flower to open up. I just have leaves and they got ants all over them?

Are they good or should I put some dusting powder on the plants?

The ants are probably farming aphids. Just smush/rub/wash them off with the hose (the aphids.)

Many lilies will secrete nectar, sometimes even in the bud stage. If no aphids present, the ants are just going after the nectar themselves (like ants on peonies). They do no harm.
