Help with tulip seeds?

sunandshadow

Does anyone have a picture of or can verbally describe what proper fertilized tulip seeds should look like? Preferably when they are still slightly green, not fully dried and brown. I opened 10 seemingly well-developed tulip seed pods today and did not see _anything_ that looked like a seed. I need to figure out if there really were no seeds or they're right under my nose and I just didn't recognize them.

A secondary question - has anyone noticed tulip seed pods to smell really strong and possibly act as a touch-absorbed poison, causing fever? I keep feeling ill after I spend a few minutes handling them.
