Old fashioned Gladiolus bulb help please

Hello all!

I was given a cluster of small (a little bigger than a marble) old fashioned gladiolus bulbs. They are from a friend who has some that her grandmother gave to her. Anyway, I have them planted in a small window box with plenty of room to grow.

My question is, should I bring them inside in a sunny window or will they be better off outside in the shade? They had long foliage when given to me (about 1 week ago) and they have since drooped and most of the foliage is browning. I know they are way too small to bloom. I'm just curious as to they best possible care for them to survive. Haven't been able to find much by googling.

I do plan on planting them in the ground in the future, but I figured they would be better off now in the pot and then transplanted in the fall. Am I on the right track?
