Have all survived and thrived here in my zone 5/6 winters, and are easily found for sale.

Might the area be too wet for them, or maybe the foliage gets shaded out too much before it ripens.

Another one that is rugged and multiplies like a rabbit for me, is Jetfire. It isn't a mini, but it is a dwarf, which is less than 12.8".

I may think of more.

Years ago, I planted a hundred each of Hawera, Jetfire, Minnow, Segovia, tete-a-tete and bulboconium. Only 1 clump of Hawera, 1 clump of Jetfire and several clumps of tete-a-tete bloomed this year. All the others disappeared a long time ago. Only Tete-a-tete has multiplied prolificallly and needed thinning out.

'Tete-a-Tete' and 'W.P. Milner' have both been extremely reliable for me. The former multiplies like rabbits and will need thinning every few years if happy. The latter multiplies very slowly but is a hardy and reliable bloomer. Of the two, my favorite is 'W.P. Milner' since it is more refined and has much less obtrusive foliage. After blooming is over, 'Tete-a-Tete- produces some alarmingly robust foliage that can bulldoze less vigorous perennials, which in my mind sort of defeats the purpose of planting "miniature" daffodils.

Jetfire is is very vigorous for me and one of my early flowering favourites. Not a true mini. Also Tete a tete, Little Gem (early) and Sun Disc (late). These last three are what I would term "rock garden" narcissi.
