Mystery Bulbs?

Yesterday my two grandchildren proudly presented me with "buried treasure" they had found in their yard. This "treasure" consisted of 30+ bulbs of various sizes and shapes. None of them had any type of growth above the ground, but they appear to be in fairly good condition. Can anyone tell me what I should do with them now? I'd like to save them if possible, but I have no experience with flower bulbs so I'm lost. I've read that bulbs can rot if it's too wet so would our average annual rainfall of 50 inches be an issue? Replanting them where they were isn't an option as the family is moving. If storing them would be better what is the best way to do that? My internet research has only left me with more questions and no real answers so any advise at all would be greatly appreciated
