Well it looks like the tulips, hyacinth and crocus you have picked out will not spread and take over your garden. However, you most likely will have re-plant these varieties to maintain a full looking garden, as many of them will not be true perennials for more than one season.

Just to be safe I will plant the specie tulips so that they have a border made of brick; medium-sized stones, etc to contain them. Also, I will prune off the fading late Spring blooms just beneath the portion where the seed will be produced to keep the specie tulips from reproducing by seeds (I saw this done at a botanical garden)

I don't believe I've ever seen anyone concerned about bulbs spreading....one never knows what one will find.

Well dead-heading does also ensure that all possibly plant vigor gets returned to the bulb as well, so I've practiced it sometimes for that purpose.

All the tulips, and dutch hyacinths in my garden except Persian Peals disappeared after a few years. Persian Pearls took years to multilpy. Most large cup crocus also disappeared.

I have not planted Narcissus Galilee. My other Narcissi spread slowly and eventually the clumps do need to be divided after 10 years or so.

I would not worry about these bulbs spreading or causing trouble.

Thanks all. I have seen photos of hundreds of species tulips in the wild in one area. They must have spread by the wind blowing the seed.

Tulips will not spread in most parts of the US. Species tulips planted in parts of California may, but they like a Mediterranean climate...in much of the US the summers are too wet for them.
