part shade bulbs

I'd like to plant some tulips in containers next to my door on my front porch, but they don't get a lot of sun there. Worried that tulips won't be a good choice. Would Hyacinths be better? Looking for something white and late blooming so that they will bloom with the rest of the Maureen mayblooming tulips I'm thinking of getting.

Have you tried small alliums? I have some under a Sweet Bay Magnolia where they have part sun. They are also late blooming

Just a thought: as you plan to grow in containers - could you raise them in the sun and just move them into place for the flowering season - then back to the sun to finish off and form their buds for next year?

Spanish bluebells, "Hyacinthoides hispanica" will grow in almost full shade. They are beautiful. They are late bloomers.
