When to plant Ranunculus Aviv Mixed in nw Ohio?

I just bought a bag of these & assumed I should plant them now, but after doing a bit a research, I am not so sure.

Anyone growing these in zone 5? If so should I plant them now or wait till spring?

You definitely want to wait until spring. And even then, these bulbs will pose a challenge. By far one of the more complicated late spring/early summer flowering bulbs. Not impossible, but a bulb much more suited to a milder climate, both summer and winter.

Pay close attention to Steve's comments in this earlier post on this topic:

Thanks for the reply. I think I will start them in the house around Feb, then put in a large pot for outside. I can then bring the pot back in the house (if they grow) in the fall.

The store had a sale, buy one get one 50% off. Had my grandson's with me & these were their suggestions. We'll see what happens.
