Forcing Tulips

Ok well being on a bit of a budget this year I thought Id give you tulips for xmas. Like to my grandmas and such.
Im doing a test run now.
The six weeks in the fridge is done.
What do I do next?

When should I put the others in the fridge?
I dont want them to be bloomed when I give them but I want a stem so Im not handing out a pot with dirt leaving my family scratching their head! lol

Although I have not tried potting them, planting in the ground after the refrigerating it takes about six weeks for them to come up. Al
