Mass market bulbs on clearance.

Any opinions on bulbs sold as mass merchandisers. In the past, I've had trouble with some of them, a lot of rotten ones and ones that refuse to grow for whatever reason.

But still, they can be OK, especially if they're really cheap.

After having spent about $700 this year between Van Engelen, Scheepers, Brecks (just a few things I can't get anywhere else, they're SO pricey), Willow Creek Gardens, and Edenblooms (amaryllis from them), I spent $100 on tulips, daffs, and some minor bulbs at Meijer the other day, at 70% off.

I mean, when you get 6 daffs or tulips for a little over $1, can you really go wrong?

I personally use Costco for my tulip bulb purchases. They have a ton of bulb varieties in bags of 50 for $12.00. Not bad at all..The also have estate qty bulbs (100 bulbs for $20.00)

Also another really good reasonably inexpensive source of bulbs is tulips.com for my tulip and other fall bulb purchase.
