rotten bulbs

I stored some bulbs in the fridge from last year and now that I am ready to plant I think they have rotted and will not grow. How can I tell if they are DOA. When I squeeze them they are hollow inside and practically fall apart. Should I spend the effort planting or just sigh heavily and throw them out. UGH!

Cut your losses and toss them; hollow and flakey would indicate there's nothing left of them to sprout.
