Do you know what kind they are? Most elephant ears don't need a dormancy they only do it because cool temperatures make them unhappy so they go dormant. If your house is warm during the winter they should start to grow again.

While small that's not a problem. Be on the lookout for spider mites, which can be wiped away easily on this plant with a cotton ball damp with rubbing alcohol. If all goes well, it may be too big in a few years. At that point, you can store it dormant in a pot, or 'naked' if dug up from the ground, in a cool, dry place. An unheated basement is a common place to store these (as well as Cannas, Gladiolus, Callas.)
