Very large Gladiolus Corms. Chop or leave?

I dug up some gladiolus corms that were as large as my hand and almost 3 inches in height. However the stem that was on them was smaller than the normal size corms. Do I chop the bulb into several pieces or leave them alone? Anyone dealing with this please advise, these things look like gnomes?

Corms may be cut into pieces to multiply, but it is not generally done with glads as they produce plenty of cormels on their own. Should you decide to cut yours you must protect against rotting, and I would suggest you look it up. Al
