Hyacinth flower came off

I am to trying to force my hyacinth to bloom for Christmas, so I held it in a refrigerator for 3 months and took it out when the leaves were about 5 cm long. Some days ago I was looking that were was coming out something that was looking something like a flower. Then suddenly it stopped growing and today I noticed that the flower wasn't connected to the bulb. Somehow it just came off, although the leaves are still growing. Can someone tell me why this happened? Is it some kind of disease?

I would guess that the plant was stressed in some way. Are there other hyacinth bulbs in the pot with the one that lost its flower? Maybe they will be alright. I usually pot mine up in October and keep them in my unheated garage until they have rooted well and the leaves start to come up several cm. Then I bring the pot into a cool room until it flowers. This usually works for me.
