soil mix for my container garden

I have just moved into a new home in which I can only have a container garden. I am quite new to this, and I am planning on growing quite a variety of different plants. I have a south facing yard so I have plenty of sun.

So here is what I need advice on.

I am on a budget so I cant afford all sorts of fancy soils. After doing some basic research, I have found that the following can be good for the soil which I have plenty of access to:-

used coffee grounds
used tea bags
sharp sand
pea shingle
cat litter

I plan on using mixes of the above with some basic shop bought soil. But what I dont know is the amounts to mix with. Do I just mix the whole lot evenly? Or do I only mix a maximum of 2 or 3 in one container? Is there a problem if I used all the above in one whole mix?

I am wanting to avoid buying any vermiculite and perlite even though I know these are highly recemnded to mix with soil.

Can anyone advise please? Ill be grateful for any help on this matter.
