Posted this question in "Balconies" but it's pretty dead over there. :-(

I have been trying to grow lavender on my west-facing, 2nd floor balcony for 2 years. It grows ok, but never blooms and dies off in the Spring. What could be wrong? I LOVE lavender, so any suggestions are most welcome. My herbs do very well so I am thinking that I am picking the wrong variety or going about it totally wrong.

Also, I would love suggestions regarding anything floral that's container/balcony worthy and smells good :-)
