Tip for watering

I found this on Pinterest and figured I would post....someone said they took water bottles or PVC pipe, poked a lot of holes in it and planted it in the middle of the soil when filling her containers. She left the spout of the bottle sticking out....when she needed to water the container she would put water in the spout so that the underlying levels of soil received adequate water...I thought this was a great idea

Use of a water reservoir in the bottom of the container, with a solid reservoir top, and adding a wick made from Polyester, will bring up the water into the soil column further than just using soil as the wick.
