| I have some Hydrofarm Tomato Barrels and was wondering what the best liquid fertilizer is to use in them. I grew in them last year and had pretty good success, but I fertilized from the top mainly with compost tea. I thought it might be easier on me and easier for the plant to get nutrients by just putting it in the reservoir. Also was curious about how much, how often etc. Thanks |

| From what I could tell from their website, these are essentially self watering pots, rather then hydroponic growing systems. They are like miniature earthboxes since they only hold about five gallons of soil. I would think your best bet would be to add a controlled release fertilizer like Osmocote Plus to the potting mix. |
