Wholesale Hanging Baskets and Other Containers

| I have a small, one-woman nursery and am having difficulties locating quality (ie -- not plastic) hanging baskets and unusual containers at decent prices. Suggestions? Mail order is fine, or somewhere in the SW Washington state/Portland, Oregon area that I can drive to. |

I don't know about wholesale, but I've really good luck with yardiac for mail order in multiples of hanging baskets etc. (www.yardiac.com) They often have sales, and while they aren't well organized (i.e. not all hanging baskets are in the same area, but some are split off into rattan and moss, vs. coco liner baskets), they ship fairly quickly and have a decent selection of different vessels (without the pricetag that some other sites come with) and good quality (at least with what I've ordered). They have some whimsical planters too. P.S. I am in no way affiliated with the company or site, but I do like to shop there ;) |

| I'm looking for baskets as well. Keep an eye on the big box chain stores. You might get lucky. This fall at my local Wal-Mart I found about 25 very nice wire, cocofiber-lined baskets marked down to $1 a piece. They're usually like $7.50 each. Another unconventional place to check is Craigslist. You might find a nursery or a greenhouse that is going out of business and is looking to get rid of their inventory. |
