I've never seen this plant, but I googled it and see that it's a tropical bush that likes to be kept well watered in a humid atmosphere with bright light. I grew phalaenopsis orchids in my office for several years. I had them on a humidity tray in an eastern-facing window. They didn't thrive, but they did bloom.
A humidity tray only raises humidity a small amount. The highest it ever got on top of the humidity tray was 33%, or 10 points higher than the room's ambient humidity. Misting the plant only raises humidity for about 10 minutes. I took my orchids home and hung them outdoors for a few months each summer when they put on most of their growth. I would guess that your plant could survive in such an environment.
