| Hi Everyone,
I just started a container garden. I am using containers that I already have (which are mostly the stackable storage bins with the tops cut off and holes drilled in the bottom). I started plants mostly as seeds in a egg carton (with the exception of a few). Here's my dilemma. WHen I started planting, I didn't research anything and now I am discovering that there are particular plants that are best for containers etc. I also don't want to use pesticides which is why I thought container gardening may be best. My question: What are your top 5-10 seed recommendations for a container gardener and how much room (depth and width) do they need to grow? So if you recommend spinach and you know I can plant 6 spinach plants in one square foot, that helps. Hope you understand what I am asking. So far, I have mini gourmet carrots, collard greens, broccoli, cabbage, beets, kentucky pole beans (one pot, one pole 8 plants around it). The more specific you can be, the better. PS I am in Southern FL. |
