Strawberry Guava with Odd/ Pale colored Leaves~ a deficency?

I just got this guava about a week ago, and noticed a few of the leaves to be very pale in areas?
It came from Lowe's so no telling how long it's been since the poor baby has been fed or really taken care of.

What do I need to get it straightened out and prevent further leaf damage.
It's still in the soil/pot I bought it in, which I hope to change this week.
Thanks!

Here's a few pics of the bad, it seems to be just the tip of 2 branches.

The rest looks great, green and glossy and putting out good new growth!

Are there other branches with NORMAL new growth, or is all new growth affected like that?

Hi Al~
All the other branches with new growth are doing great!

The 2 bad branches are now putting out new normal growth. A little blurry but you can see it a little in the 3rd pic. If you need better ones, yell and I can take some more for you. :-)

I'd just prune it off & fuhgetaboutit. When odd patterns or deformities occur on new foliage they usually don't correct themselves.

Pruned and working on the 'fuhgetaboutit' ;-)
Just wanted to make sure it wasn't something that could/should be corrected. :-)
Thanks Al!

Hard to say - sometimes newly emerging leaves can be damaged by over-spray at the nursery or frost or ..... any one of a number of things. Often they never recover, so if you think it spoils the appearance of the plant, then just take 'em off. ;o)

That's what I would do, too... prune off the offending bit, and just watch for any other signs of strangeness.

Nice tree! :-)

Thanks Al and Jodi!
Jodi~ I'm always on the look out for "strangeness" ;-)
And I am also picky , and like plants to look their best, so I did go ahead and prune it off, it's a small section, so it wont change the shape much.

I need a screen between me and the neighbor, and I think this will fill in nice! Can't plant in the ground, so everything will be in containers. :-)
