Water Report 2011 for my city

Any of you pH and water experts care to review and provide some feedback re: my city's water report? It's for 2011 -- and I could not find one for 2012 yet, so this will have to do.

I have quite a few plants here that require acidity, so I've been using vinegar in my water ~ approximately a teaspoon+ per gallon. But reading this report, while I see the pH averages at 7.5, I'm not sure if this is enough acidity or if I should alter more to ensure the plants do well.
And the water is apparently very hard here.

Oddly, the taste of our water is so fabulous that nobody here buys or orders drinking water. We all drink this tap water. After reading this report, I don't know if I should be anymore, but then again, I'm not entirely sure what all of this means.

If any of you have some suggestions or intepretations, I'd really appreciate it!

pH isn't too much of a concern in container culture. In the ground a high pH can tie up micronutrients. Container soils typically do not do this. If you use a fertilizer containing proper micronutrients then those nutrients will be available for the plants in the container. You probably wouldn't need to add much lime, if any, to soil you mix yourself since the analysis shows a fair amount of calcium and magnesium in the water.

Hi, JD -

That's interesting -- and a relief, because in my effort to keep the 5-1-1 for the gardenias and azaleas "acidic", I didn't add the garden lime but was recently told that it will probably cause some deficiency in the future. Perhaps my water will save the day for those.

Thank you for your input!

Someone on another forum said the jpg was too small. Here's the link to the PDF if anyone wants to take a look.
