I've been wanting to try Al's 511 container mix, but I've been having a hell of a time trying to find the bark component. I found one place that had bags of "aged bark mulch" which was the closest thing to pine bark fines for the mix I've found, but the bag was an opaque black with little other information. Is this stuff okay, or is it mostly aged sapwood and I'm SOL? The mini-sun is a quarter.

If its no good for Al's mix, does anyone know where to get some acceptable stuff in the Lower Mainland area of British Columbia?
