What are you planting, and is it from seed or pony pacs? Your raised soil will probably be a little warmer than the ground, but what you are planting, and how, is relative to your question. Al

In the raised raised beds, probably eggplant, peppers, tomatillos, green onions, cukes (they don't get very big here for some reason!)
I'm not quite sure what else! I'm going to do my planning this week while on vacation. I know the regular beds will still have tomatoes, pole beans, asparagus, squash, garlic

I'm actually going to take my Baker Creek vege porn book on vacation with me to make a bunch of decisions!LOL!
I tried some winter sowing, which hasn't worked out too well, so I'll probably be starting from starts again this year.

Everything you mentioned except possibly green onions needs to be plants that have been hardened off and then planted in warm soil with nighttime lows in the mid-50s or better. A raised bed does warm up better than the ground, but your raised beds may be cooled off by wind underneath them.

Nancy you could expect frost through much of April, but if you cover at night I think the soil is warm enough for what you have in mind. Al

Al, I'm pretty sure we're done with frost, but our last day is posted as April 15th. My neighbor usually plants the last week of March.
I'm thinking of trying some stuff in the new raised raised beds with some plastic over them as soon as I get home next week. Nancy
