Smart Pots - Yellow Leaves on Zucchini?

Hi all,

I am brand-new to container gardening and to gardening in general. I'm attempting to grow a few organic crops in my backyard using self-watering containers and Smart Pots.

Last week I planted a few zucchini seeds in a 15-gallon Smart Pot.

They sprouted today -- and I'm thrilled! -- but two of the three little plants have white stems and yellow leaves. The third plant looks normal and healthy with green leaves and a green stem.

I used Mel's Mix soil and Black Gold Organic fertilizer at the time of planting. I put the Smart Pot in a south-facing sunny part of my backyard patio. (I live in Southern California -- Zone 9.)

I read that yellow leaves could indicate that it is being overwatered...I'm wondering if that's really what's going on here or if maybe they are lacking some nutrients.

My question is -- is it too late to try to help these little sproutlings grow healthy? Is there anything I should add to the soil? Should I try to remove/transplant the yellow plants? As I said, they have only been in the Smart Pot for 8 days.

Thank you so much to anyone who has suggestions for me.
