mixing 5-1-1 three weeks in advance

I'm trying to avoid repeating a mistake earlier this season with my first shot at a 5-1-1 mix. I never added water during the mixing process to start the release of the CRF and the dolomytic lime so my broccoli didn't fare so well (still not doing so well even though I applied liquid fertilizer a week ago).

Knowing that we're expecting a few inches of rain the next couple of days I decided yesterday to make my 20 gallon tomato containers with a fresh batch of 5-1-1 and let them sit in my garden taking in all of that rain (until I transplant in about three weeks time). Is this a good idea or a bad idea?
