Has anyone else tried one of these? I think they are pretty new.
I've had Earthboxes for years, and like them, but sometimes I neglect to water them. I saw these Farmdaddy boxes at a garden show recently-- you hook them up permanently to a hose, leave the hose on, and a valve in the box lets water flow in only when the level in the box is low. Thus, all the watering is automatic. Other than that, they are just like the EB's, making me wonder how they got around the patent.
My parents also have Earthboxes, but as they are getting quite elderly I bought a couple Farmdaddys for them so they'd have less work to do. So far the FD's are working fine and the plants are growing well.
I just wondered if anyone else had one? And, in particular, if the water valve ever failed on you.
