After quickly running out of my smaller bag of perlite for my 5-1-1 mix, I was able to find a larger bag at a much lower cost. Has anyone used this perlite? Just want some opinions before I open it. Sorry for the blurry pics taken in the store.

What I used PRIOR to today ($14 bag):

The NEW stuff ($28 bag):

I've seen that in stores. I was tempted to try it, but I decided it was just too big for my 5-1-1 tastes and passed.

the bag was too big or the actual perlite chunks were too big?

I think big bags are usually 2 cu ft.

Big bags are usually 4 cubic feet.
If the chunks are 1/4 - 3/8 of an inch on average, it should be excellent! I'd love to find some of the chunky stuff...my source dried up.
