I've looked high and low to find 'pine bark fines' and actually finding this exact product where I'm at is an act of futility.

It's either too coarse or 'too fine' ('too small'). Forget trying to order it online; they'll only ship it to you if it's local; the one place I managed to find it, shipping is not affordable.

I really can't get just get normal pine bark mulch, and make into fines; it's too time-consuming.

It's called

'premium pine shavings' and it says it's 'fine' right on the label. As I said, this is the closest thing I could find, and I've looked everywhere for pine bark fines in my area, and to no avail.

I found small bags of pine bark fines online, but it's like $10 for a small bag which isn't economical at all.

Will pine bark shavings work to make a general soil less mix?

Also I used pine bark mulch, and although it was too large, all of my veggies loved the mix (with the exception of root veggies cause it was too coarse w/texture).
