| hello:
(southern new york area) i have had a 3 foot weeping white pine in a large container for 2 years, and a 4 foot miss kim lilac purchased b&b and planted in the garden 2 years ago. i wish to transplant both of them to large planters to remain as patio plants. when would be the best time to do this? i know it should be done before full growth starts but because the weather here in the north east has been unusually warm growth has started (especially on the lilac) i would rather not wait until fall.

| If you're just potting up, you can do it any time. If you're doing full repots with root pruning, do the lilac in early spring before bud movement & the pine in August. Al |
