Hi all. One of our local garden shops is closing and they were giving away shredded aspen wood excelsior. I went up and got a 44 gal trash bag full! I used about half of it in the bottoms of my large planting pots for filler but was wondering if anyone has ever used it to line wire baskets as you would moss or cocoa fiber? I have a few baskets with cocoa fiber that needed to be replaced but instead I filled the bare spots with the wood excelsior. So far it is holding the potting mix fine. There is a lot of it still available and I'm thinking I will go back and get another bag for next year. If anyone knows of any other uses as far as gardening goes please post!
