Thanks for all the info

Hello all,

I'm new to the forum, but have been reading for a few months now. Just wanted to make a post to thank everyone for the great advise that I have received so far. Below is a picture of the tomatoes that I have growing in the 5-1-1 mix. Left is Sungold, and the one on the right is Pineapple. I used 1x2's bolted to the whiskey barrels to create a cage. Supports are strips of old t-shirts tied wherever needed. Special thanks to Al for the great container mix recipe!

Nice! I know you said whiskey barrels, but how many gallons of mix do they hold? What, and how often are you feeding them? I'm growing a Hawaiian Pineapple, is it the same as a 'Pineapple?'

RE: Thanks for all the info

They have a 26 gallon capacity, but I probably loose several gallons by not filling to the rim of the container. I mixed in some CRF before planting and use MG tomato formula about twice a week at half the recommended dosage. I think Pineapple is different from Hawaiian Pineapple but I really don't know. The plant on the right is actually called 'Rose'. After your question I checked the tag and realized my mistake. The Pineapple is out of frame to the right. It is a little shorter than the others.
