Echinacea with black tips question.

Hello,

I have some echinacea plants, including Hot Papaya, with some black tips on its leaves and developing flower bud leaf tips. Is this from overwatering or over fertilizing, or something else? Please advise. Also I did not see a Echinacea or Coneflower section on GardenWeb, so I posted here.

Thank you,

F

RE: Echinacea with black tips question.

Are you growing the Echinacea in a pot/container? If in the ground, you might check on the perennial forum for answers, as well - GW Perennial Forum

The black tips may be from overwatering; Echinacea don't like wet feet!

If you can post a picture of the plant, that might help folks here to diagnose the problem.
