Greetings,

I have a Curly Leaf Croton that is about 4 years old, and for some reason, it has been dropping leaves throughout this whole growing season.
It's in the same place that I've always kept it, and I tend to it the same way that I always have. It's always been a very full and pretty plant ever since I got it. Do you have any suggestions as to what may be the cause of this problem?

I could be wrong, but I don't believe that it's root bound, because the size of the pot that it's in, looks as though there's still plenty of root space in comparison to the size of the plant.

Anyone's help will be much appreciated!

It could be any one of or a combination of:

* Tight roots
* Deficiency of one of the mobile nutrients - especially N
* A drought response due to a high level of soluble salts in the soil, under-watering, over-watering
* A recent decrease in the intensity or duration of light the part of the plant that is shedding is getting
* Insect predation/disease
