5-1-1mix or if all things fail....help

Al, Dave, Ed, Ohiofem, more advice please, bark fines are not easily found. I think the hemlock mulch looks good. HOWEVER, if it isn't, how close is the pro-mix hp to the 5-1-1? And is there anything else I can add to it?
Also, my seedlings are now about 5" above the soil. The stems are getting thicker. They are in 4" pots. What do you feel is a good size for planting? Hoping to plant by the 20th.
Thx, sharon

In Al's Container Soils post he clearly states that Hemlock will work. Is there a chance that you could get a picture of the hemlock bark/mulch and post it? As long as the pieces are decent sized and not shredded or something, it should work. ProMix is a peat based product. Adding perlite would improve it. Better yet, add the ProMix and perlite to the hemlock bark ;-)
