New to Gardening, Planning on sowing several plants

Hey everyone, this is my first post. I'm planning on planting a few vegetables in the next week or two. I have a list of some plants that I want to get and was wondering if it's still fine to sow them at this time of the year(Zone 8B). Currently, I have 2 onions, 2 parsleys, a few mung bean seedlings, and 2 tomato plants(my dad grew them).

So the plants I want to grow are: okra, soybeans(for edamame), broccoli, and yard long beans.

Also, my dad wants to grow some eggplants, if we see some decent sized plants for sale at home depot or so, is that still fine to grow?

When I have tried to grow broccoli in the summer, it has tasted bad. Try growing it in late fall or early spring instead when it is cooler. Soy beans should be fine this time of year. No experience growing eggplant - yuck! I recall mom growing them in the summer, and a few bites was enough to cure me of the curiosity of the beautiful purple fruit.
