Removing Corn Suckers

Well I posted something similar to this but it hasn't gotten any responses so I'll ask this question here: Should I pull off my Sweet Corn (Peaches and Cream Hybrid) Suckers? So I'm experimenting with corn and growing about 5 plants in three different 5-7 gallon pots. As of now, it is going really well. Most of the corn stalks are 2 feet tall and I planted about a month ago. Nearly all of the stalks have developed suckers. I've heard removing them might increase production but even if that's not true, should I just remove them to make space? Does removing them make the corn plant taller?

---Thanks, hoping for some answers this time!
