I messed up, I bought gypsom instead of lime, don't know why, but now I am wondering if I can use it instead of the lime? If not, WHAT do I do with a whole bag of Gypsom!!
Head to the store to get yourself the lime, and use the gyspum for some gritty mix. You need that lime in the 5-1-1 to bring the PH up, and also to provide your calcium and magnesium.
Thanks, running to the store is easier said than done. I won't be going to town until later this week. I will have to pick it up then, and scratch it into the containers later. I plant on getting some fertilizer at the same time.
Don't know why I didn't get it, it WAS on my list. I remember the gypsom and the lime were next to each other. I must have picked up the wrong bag.
I would advise against planting now and scratching it in later, because the key with liming is to have it mixed in thoroughly and evenly. With fertilizer you can pull this off, but you aren't going to beable to get the lime into all of the mix.
