My Bay Leaf tree is a mess! And seems to be dieing and I have no idea why ?

I re potted it about a week ago into the 5-1-1 mix, and am worried I may have over watered it. The pot it is in now has a saucer attached, and I didn't think to tip it later after watering.

But here's the whole list of details...

I've had it for several months, and it was doing O.K. in the mix it was in but not thriving. A mix of soil and fine sand. It came that way.

I was working on it to remove scale, but mostly by hand only sprayed it once, lightly with an organic approved ortho spray.

I haven't kept up on feeding it like I should~embarrassed to say.

The leaves were not like they are now when I trans planted it. A few had burnt tips, but not like they are now.

It's now in 5-1-1

I did not root prune, only removed one that was turned the wrong way.

Did the repot in the house, so I doubt roots dried out.

This was going to be a gift for my mom, now I'm just sick over how it looks. :-(

I hope I can stop any more leaves from turning brown!

It is showing signs of a little new growth at the top.

Ignore the small almost dead plant. That was up rooted by a bird... Nothing to do with the mix the bay and it are in.
